Who We Are

Established by statute in 1981, New Hampshire Housing generates, receives and administers federal, state and other affordable housing resources. It receives no operating funds from the state. It administers a broad range of programs designed to assist low- and moderate-income persons and families with obtaining safe and affordable housing.

HOMEOWNERSHIP

  • Offers single-family mortgage programs to first-time and other homebuyers.
  • Works with a network of lenders and real estate professionals across the state.
  • Supports homebuyer education and financial education programs.
  • Oversees the servicing of NH Housing’s portfolio of single-family mortgage loans.

ASSISTED HOUSING

  • Administers the HUD Housing Choice Voucher rental assistance programs for low- and very Low-income households in the state.
  • Supports programs to help voucher holders become self-sufficient.

MULTIFAMILY HOUSING

  • Helps finance the creation and/or rehabilitation of affordable rental housing in the state, as well as refinances and recapitalizes existing properties to preserve affordable housing units.
  • Provides financing that makes affordable housing possible through the allocation of federal funding resources such as the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, HOME Investment Partnerships Program, national Housing Trust Fund, and the state Affordable Housing Fund.

ENGAGEMENT, POLICY, AND COMMUNICATIONS

  • Produces market reports, publications, and planning tools. Manages communications and marketing strategies to inform the public and stakeholders about housing programs and initiatives. Collaborates with community partners statewide on housing advocacy issues and works to increase awareness of the need for a balanced supply of diverse and affordable housing.

EXECUTIVE DIVISION

  • Provides administrative oversight for the
    organization including human resources, legal
    affairs, legislative affairs, facilities, and executive management.

FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING DIVISION

  • Provides the day-to-day financial operations for
    NH Housing, including accounts payable and
    receivable, and payroll.
  • Provides the financial operations for the
    administration of federal and state programs,
    multifamily project development, and tax-exempt bond financing.

BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY DIVISION

  • Provides information systems and technology
    services to the organization.
  • Internal programing and software development.
